CALGARY, AB March 21, 2017 - Dr. Anne Snowdon, WIN Academic Chair, presented to the Alberta Health Services (AHS) Senior Leadership Team. Dr. Verna Yiu, President and CEO, the AHS executive team and approximately 100 health leaders participated in this significant educational event.
Dr. Snowdon’s presentation focussed on global trends in health system innovation profiling opportunities an innovation agenda creates for health systems to provide added value to the populations they serve. The presentation examined perspectives and exemplars of innovation trends focussed on cost versus value of health care, creating evidence of impact of value, procuring innovation in health systems, key drivers for scalability of innovation, and the role of consumer influence on health system innovation. The presentation is fully aligned with the AHS commitment to an impactful Canadian approach to Health Innovation that create value for Albertans.
Dr. Snowdon, Academic Chair of the World Health Innovation Network (WIN), is currently leading over 15 innovation research initiatives across seven Canadian provinces that collaborate with government, health professionals, private industry, foundations and families. She is a member of the Institute for Health System Innovation of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research, and is a Board Member of Alberta Innovates.
