Advancing the Quadruple Aim Leveraging a Clinically Integrated Supply Chain
Dr. Anne Snowdon presented at the HIMSS Global Conference and Exhibition in Orlando, Florida, U.S., on February 11, 2019. The presentation, Advancing the Quadruple Aim Leveraging a Clinically Integrated Supply Chain, focussed on improving patient safety and performance by leveraging supply chain innovation to proactively reduce the risk of medical error. Patient safety is a complex and growing challenge that can lead to poor outcomes for patients and higher costs for all across the healthcare ecosystem. Medical error is now the third leading cause of death in North America. Examining the supply chain infrastructure in clinical settings as a tool will offer transparency that identifies the best outcomes for patient population segments while identifying the conditions (i.e., care pathways and resources) that these outcomes can be achieve.
