On October 4, 2018 in Manchester, UK, the SCAN Health European Procurement Summit 2018 provided a rare opportunity for key leaders and professionals in North America and Europe to come together on key priorities in healthcare. Event delegates were enabled to share knowledge, discuss, network and collaborate on the opportunities for innovative procurement models informed by real world evidence to achieve value for health systems globally.

Over 120 partners and participants from industry, health systems, governments and academia across the globe registered for this inaugural event. The day consisted of an opening keynote by Dr. Anne Snowdon, CEO and Scientific Director of SCAN Health, providing real-world evidence of outcomes-based procurement and a strategy to drive health system transformation to achieve value.

Three plenary discussions followed featuring speakers from Canada, US, UK, Belgium and Australia. The experts provided unique perspectives, insights, successes, challenges and opportunities for global collaboration in their respective plenary topics including advancing supply chain maturity in health systems, developing joint global registries to share data and adopting value-based procurement.

The closing keynote by Dr. Ben Bridgewater, CEO of Health Innovation Manchester, identified areas in which global partnerships will accelerate digital transformation in health systems to provide safer care and sustainability.

The SCAN Health European Procurement Event 2018 was in partnership with the NHS North West Procurement Development as a pre-event opportunity to the Excellence in Supply Awards 2018.
